We always rotate the location of our half termly T&L Lead Networks to schools within our XPT, and last week it was Plover’s turn.
Our day always begins with an Instructional Round of the host’s school’s lessons, and for those of you who maybe new to them IRs are when a small group of teachers visiting lessons in order to observe, enquire, deconstruct and learn from real world classroom scenarios.
It is important not to get IRs mixed up with Walkthroughs or other forms of observations. IRs are entirely appreciative – observing through the lens of what is working well, and what we can learn from what is taking place. They are about using them as an opportunity for professional learning within our culture of staff crew and we always receive great feedback from those who take part in them.
